Collect prepayments for your event with Stripe

What is Stripe?

Stripe is an online payment-processor, and once you connect a Stripe account to your community, participants only need to enter their credit card information to prepay for events.

Connecting Stripe to your Doorkeeper community

From the "Payment settings" of your community's "Settings" page click the "Connect Stripe" button.

Fill in all the required information and click "Authorize access to this account" button on the bottom of the page. When filling out the form, there are a couple questions that aren't obvious how to answer, so we've prepared a guide to creating a Stripe account.

Once you've authorized access, your ready to start accepting payments with Stripe with all the credit cards they support by default (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express in Japan).

Collecting payments from JCB cardholders

To collect payments from JCB cardholders in Japan, an additional confirmation process is required. As part of this, they'll check you have a page required by Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions. After connecting a Stripe account, you'll be prompted to enter information for such a page. Once you've done this, we'll start the application process with JCB.
